Hey whats up everone here at Hatena Blog, here we are agian with my Movie Blog.
Before that, I've been really thinking about how important it is to "endure"...
I've been uploading LOKA's YouTube program every week, we don't have super amount of ppl watching yet, but as I check everyday I see a difference, a good difference. I am finally recognizing how important it is to keep doing what I do even thought I'm not satisfied with the fact. You need to chase the fact, and not give up. It's tough... yes... but another words, its simple. I say "simple" cause its not easy, but its also "tough" but not difficult.
Do you get it?
If its an "easy" thing to do but you have "difficulty" doing it, I think it means you're not into it. If you're not into it, things won't progress. Plus you may work on it with half your strenght since its "easy", which may lead your progress half-good.
However, "simple & tough" is another story. You know what to do, but you face challenge. And many times that "challenge" is within yourself. "Enduring" in your work, thats faith.
So, I chose a movie called "FUNE WO AMU", means "Knitting the Boat". Its an Japanese movie about making a DICTIONARY
You can understand why, since so many abbreviations and slangs are born everyday. The global network, young kids making new words, new street culture and etc., new words and new meaning of a word drift into our world and these dictionary editors need to update that as they edit their work.
I get tired of working in the studio for 10hrs..., not something I can compare lol.
The origianl story is written by SHION MIURA, a very famous novelist in Japan. All of his works are great, his story will softly reach out to you, and once you take that hand you are gruadually dragged in his world. Then he surprises you, thinking " I didn't see that coming!". Since his story takes you to a nice drifing ride, the surprise creates a big impression and you can actually catch yourself being entertained by him.
The main actor for this movie is RYUHEI MATSUDA, plays a roll of a name "MAJIME" written in a differenct Japanese character but in HIRAGANA means "SERIOUS" lol. Yeah.. you need a "serious guy" to get a dictionary done.
Actress is AOI MIYAZAKI, stunning beautiful actrees in Japan...
The scene where she first appears is at a night on a balcony with moonlight background which is breath taking.
Another scene that hit me is in the beginning. It's the first "reach-out" SHION MIURA creates in the movie.
The chief editor seeks for a new staff to take over his position, and as he seeks he askes every person a question.
"CAN YOU EXPLAIN the word RIGHT?"
Right... other side of left?
No... that doesn't really "explain"...
most ppl are right handed? No... that just deny's leftys...
When MAJIME is asked this question he answers, "When we look North, East is RIGHT".
For me, as a lyrcist this was very interesting. It described how much sense of humor you need in order to explain a simple word that we use all the time. Words are our only communication tools created by human.
It lead to me a thinking that understanding the "word it self" in various ways helps us to communicate better with ppl.
Which leads to understanding one another in various ways.
No matter which language we speak, if we interpret words differently than its intention, it can lead to miscommuniction that can also lead to a much more negative ending.
Nowadays with the internet, I believe we are all much more tested with words and communications.
Which makes our understanding of words critical in order to speak correctly and share what we need to say.
So if you do come across this movie, I hope you feel the way I do now. I mean... who writes a story about creating a dictionary from the first place lol. I believe these kind of movie is where we find our "interest" spread and our understanding expand.
